  PHILIP LANE, WINNER OF THE 2001 BERNÁCER PRIZE IN MONETARY ECONOMICS
 

Philip Lane received a doctorate in Economics at Harvard University in 1995 and was an Assistant Professor of Economics and International Affairs at Columbia University during 1995-1997 before joining Trinity College (University of Dublin) in 1997. He is a research affiliate in the International Macroeconomics and International Trade programmes of the London-based Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and has been a visiting scholar at the International Monetary Fund and a consultant to the European Commission.

His research interests include international macroeconomics, economic growth, European Monetary Union and Irish economic performance. He is on the editorial board of the European Economic Review, Economics and Politics, Economic and Social Review, Journal of International Economics, and International Tax and Public Finance.
